He also expanded protections for DACA recipients, according to several reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement issued by the White House, the president blamed Republicans in Congress for not securing the border and fixing the \u201cbroken immigration system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of Republicans putting \u201cpartisan politics ahead of national security,\u201d he announced additional measures to implement deportation protections to some illegal foreign nationals.
